 About a year ago, I saw a video of a male officer patting down a female child alongside a road.  The child looked to be about 10, and was handcuffed.  This was in an urban area, with bystanders and at least one cellphone recording the incident. 

Since then, I have seen ICE violently knocking women down, groping girls, taking cuffed women into porta-potties and restrooms, and menacing women, even murdering one as she tried to drive away.  The accusations of sexual assault and rape are growing, as people are being kidnapped and detained in facilities that will go down in history for the atrocities taking place inside.  There are children being treated in horrendous ways, right this minute, by folks being paid with our tax dollars.  These children will live lives directly affected by what is being done to them right now.  As bad as you can imagine it might be, trust me, it's worse.

My mind goes back to the child from a year ago, the one being groped by law enforcement while she was handcuffed.  How many old men like Marc Maron will groom and harm her for years, because of what is happening to her right now?  She will be blamed, she will be told she knew what she was doing, she may even be told she was making her own strong feminist choices, and she will accept all of this, because society allows this to be what she is taught.  When old men want to use this child, she will be the perfect target.  

It is hard to find hope, when people keep excusing the behavior of sexual predators.   Whether it's maga excusing Epstein, or Maron fans excusing his obsession with teen girls, it's all the same.  Sexualized children are never protected from those who target them.

Denial and Thanksgiving

My father denied food to me when I was little.  I wrote more about that in a blog post some years back: Three Views.  It was destructive in so many ways.  I was homeless when my oldest son was three.   The unbelievably wrenching stress of trying to keep my child fed was beyond description, although I tried to describe it a bit in this blog post from my earlier blogging days: Alf.  The look on my father's face as he made me stand by the table and watch him eat, while not allowing me to eat, is a look I am having to see on an awful lot of people's faces, as they enjoy knowing food supplement benefits are being denied.

Marc Maron's Thanksgiving-themed book reading for children is making its annual rounds.   The way his fans deny his own predatory words and behavior for the last three and a half decades, as they find it somehow appropriate that this man should have access to children, as they see nothing dangerous in allowing little girls to view this man as safe, is further proof to me that predators are going to continue to be protected.

In this clip, the pain Alicia Arden is currently experiencing can be seen.  It made my chest hurt, as I watched Alicia speak.  She cannot escape her personal trauma being devoured by the masses on every media platform.   And the only person doing time for crimes against Alicia and other survivors is about to be pardoned by the leader of our country.  

I have experienced the jarring sensation of seeing my old predator sda school principal show up in a friend's social media post, or discovering that old principal once belonged to a Facebook group for sexual abuse survivors, where he was offering comfort to teen girls in crisis, just as he had once done to me.  It does something internally, to see one's abuser freely grooming and abusing others, while they never had to answer for what they have already been doing for decades.  It hurts in ways that are hard to put into words.

I am currently reminded of the young crew member from the set of Delores Roach a few summers back.  Marc Maron indecently exposed his genitals to this young crew member.  (https://sighlentz.blogspot.com/2023/04/a-real-predator.html)  Maron is currently on a publicity tour for a number of things he is featured in, which means he pops up all over the place online.   That crew member will see him, and each time she does, she will relive the fact that this entertainer knew he could illegally commit a sex crime against her, and there was nothing she could do about it.  He continues on with his life, being marketed to children in some of his work, and she has to live with the knowledge that nobody will protect her, or anyone like her, from this man.  He is free to break the law, and she must live with it, while being forced to see him publicly speak on programs like Fresh Air and morning news shows or late night programing.  That is how predators in a patriarchy leave their victims feeling:  powerless.   Those who are exploited by celebrity predators, must experience the pain of seeing their perpetrators in media, which makes it that much worse.

My chest hurts when I think of the pain Alicia Arden, and all of Epstein/Maxwell's living survivors are currently experiencing.   And my chest hurts for those who have been exploited by Marc Maron, and are being reminded of him during his current publicity cycle.

Since my first post in April of 2023 regarding the predatory behavior of Marc Maron, I have been in touch with a number of survivors of CSA, CP, and trafficking.   These past few weeks have been disheartening for all of us.  From the events in the Combs trial, to the recent meetings granted to a convicted sex trafficker, all of it is a brutal reminder of our place in society.  

When I first posted about Marc Maron, another comedian let me know that "if these girls want help, they know where to go."  This comedian knows what Maron has been up to for three and a half decades.   For godsake, she knows what young female comics have had to go thru when they used to open for a Maron show.  She simply doesn't care.

The lip service that gets paid to exploited victims is bullshit.   The perpetrators are rarely charged, much less convicted.  Some of them can brag about their behavior, and then be marketed to children.  

There are many survivors of Epstein and Maxwell who are willing to speak about what happened.   That takes a kind of bravery most people can't comprehend.  But who is being met with, and given "queen for a day" immunity?  Who is going to get a pardon?  Ghislaine fucking Maxwell.

Virginia Giuffre is gone, after living a life directly affected by the behavior of predatory men. Her life was filled with pain and abandonment, grief and loss, blame and misunderstanding.   She had no one.  My heart hurts for her.

Children will soon be watching another movie that includes a snake voiced by Marc Maron.  They are having a sexual predator marketed to them.  No one is protecting kids, right or left.

Just a little PSA reminder

Lip service years later does nothing for children being groomed now.  Those who know what Marc Maron has done for decades, are culpable for every child he ends up grooming and re-exploiting.  Those who market this sexual predator to children are choosing to endanger children.  Anyone ignoring the predatory behavior of this comedian is directly involved in harming damaged young people, and endangering children.

Every person who is frustrated by the way so many people ignore the behavior of our current leader, please ask yourself if you aren't just as capable of ignoring harmful/illegal behavior, when it's on a smaller scale, and involves someone you choose to view as above the law.

"All men are pro choice. ..." - Marc Maron

Marc Maron recently shared a bit he has done regarding abortion.  In a number of his Instagram Lives, he says he refuses to use any form of protection, even after speaking about how he gave one of his exes herpes.  In the intro to his podcast from June 27, 2022, episode 1343, he claims any man with "game" has had to deal with convincing someone to get an abortion. And he continues to groom and fuck girls with mental and emotional issues who are of child-bearing age. A 61 yr-old man who does not want children does not have "game," he has a real problem with being a responsible, much older, adult. His obvious responsible choice would be to have a vasectomy, and stop targeting much younger girls suffering from serious emotional issues and addictions.

Mr. Maron is a sexual predator who shares similar traits with other known predators who prey on teen girls, predators who purposely target the very girls suffering from serious issues that lead to lives of constant re-exploitation, where the abuse and societal blame lead to nothing but more devastation (rip Virginia Giuffre).  Mr. Maron has bragged onstage about wanting sex with teen girls since 1989. His words mirror a phone conversation donald trump had with Howard Stern about Lindsey Lohan when she was still a teen, in an example of this predatory behavior that destroys lives of girls like I was, survivors who suffer from a number of issues that predators purposely target.  Predators like Marc Maron should not be marketed to children, or placed in any positions of power.  (Here are trump's words, starting at 11:43:

 I have seen my left-leaning friends, as well as some of Marc Maron's fans, posting about the arrest of the politician in the article I will link below.  This politician's illegal behavior is the same behavior Marc Maron has been publicly bragging about and encouraging for three and a half decades.

When I speak of the predators who destroy the lives of people like me, I am speaking about all of those predators, not just those who belong to a certain political party.

DARVO

 DARVO is an acronym for behavior used by those who wish to get away with exploiting others. (See pic and link below. ) My father, my old sda school principal, Marc Maron, and many others, use this technique to get away with sexually exploiting the vulnerable.

We are watching DARVO in action, on a geopolitical scale.  

What will happen next?  Who the hell knows.  People allow the exploitation of others by those adept at DARVO techniques.  When we allow predators to get away with exploiting others, it sends a message.  Predators will do what they can get away with, unless others decide to stand up and call out their behavior. 

Stand up.  Call out unacceptable behavior, wherever it is happening.

Boys and Men

I watched the current interview with Richard Reeves on the Daily Show, and very much look forward to reading his book, "Of Boys and Men," in the coming weeks.  

As a mother of sons, and a grandmother of 2 young grandsons, I have been consciously aware of and concerned about the issues that boys in our society face, ever since my first child was born.  My blog posts since April of '23 have been specific, and I actively avoid other issues in most of my current posts, but something Richard Reeves said during his interview converged with the topic of my current blogs.  He said, "On average, boys just grow up a little later, they mature a little bit later."  To me, I see it more as girls are sexualized earlier, and this contributes to the perception of precocious maturity they are so often ascribed.  

Puberty onset varies scientifically for a wide variety of reasons, but that all is still happening among children at relatively the same time.  It is happening among peers.  The average age for girls is 8 to 13, and 9 to 14 for boys, according to the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.  

My stepmother told me I was "so mature."  The sda principal often spoke about how girls were "so much more mature than boys."  (He once told me I was mature like Mary, from the bible.  How god knew teen girls were "mature.")  My church saw me as someone so "mature" at 13, they blamed me for the behavior of their 33 yr-old male school administrator.  This subtle societal belief that girls "mature" faster than boys was very harmful for me.  The way society has used an insignificant average age difference for the onset of puberty to ascribe agency and maturity to girls has been harmful for a lot of children, both girls and boys.  (I write more about the way predators misuse these words to excuse their exploitation of children in this post:  Trigger warning )

Girls may, on average, hit puberty about a year sooner than boys.  But if they were not sexualized and objectified from infancy onward, I think this would actually go a long way toward creating less behaviors that lead to the "girls are more mature" phrasing that has been co-opted by older men like my old sda school principal, or Marc Maron, to excuse their predatory behavior toward teen girls.  Girls are not more mature than boys.  Children are individual beings.  A male child who hears that boys are "not as mature," is being unintentionally saddled with an expectation that could be harmful to that child.  

I hope our society can learn to nurture children, without sexualizing or objectifying any of them, or unintentionally saddling them with gendered expectations that may harm them, or can be used by adults to harm them.

These teenagers in St. Helens had predators teaching them, predators placed in positions of power over them, while attending school. These parents have every right to be angry. Children should be protected from predators at school.

A predator enters our US school districts every holiday season. I have young family members whose children have seen this video in their classrooms. Children have no idea how to spot predators. When adults are presented to children in schools, those adults are viewed as safe. No child understands what a 61 yr-old is thinking or doing. Who we allow to be seen as safe by our kids is our responsibility, not our our kids' responsibility. This is why those parents in St. Helens are angry. Predators were allowed access to their children, by a school board that has a lot to answer for.

If a student brings home a note for their parents to sign, so their child can see Marc Maron speak to a high school drama class in some US school district, those parents won't know Mr. Maron has spoken of his desire to have sex with teen girls for the past 35 years. Parents won't know how Marc Maron exposed his genitalia on set in Canada. That note they sign may include an NDA, which parents may not understand, either.  

Our children are not being protected from predators. Whether it's Warren Jeffs arranging child marriages, or Marc Maron getting close to and grooming girls and claiming it is them who are "enamored" with him, it is all the same predatory behavior.  

When adult men obsess for decades about having sex with teen girls, they should not be presented as safe to children. 

A Thank You to parents

"Quiet on Set," multiple episodes of SVU, Bones episode 3 of season 2, "Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields," are all examples of media bringing attention to the way adults sexualize and exploit children. At the same time such programs are being produced and aired, predators are still being marketed to children, and children are being placed in harm's way.

In this patriarchal society, adult men are allowed to get away with exploiting underage girls, and the girls are assigned the blame.  Soon, Storyline Online, a SAG AFTRA foundation program, will once again promote Marc Maron's Thanksgiving book-reading created specifically for children, a reading performed by a 61 yr-old man who has publicly spoken of his desire to have sex with teen girls for the last 35 years. Maron has recently spoken on his WTF podcast of his current interest in visiting high school drama programs, and voiced an interest in children's books. He has actively groomed teen girls from the stage, online, and in his personal life.  He claims these girls are the ones enamored with him, and has said he "cannot say no," when they respond to his grooming.  He has 13-stepped teen girls in AA, and knows AA can do nothing about it.  He admitted, in an Instagram Live, to illegally exposing his genitalia to a crew member on set, two years ago in Canada.

This self-proclaimed predator is growing his access to children, and no one is protecting the sexualized girls he will continue to groom and exploit. Every SVU episode, the Epstein saga, the atrocities at Nickelodeon, none of this media attention makes any real difference, in a society where predators like Maron are given free access to children, and actively marketed to them.  Sexualized children in our society are fed to this man, and predators just like him, with a wink and a smile.

I hope more parents continue to find my posts, and realize they do not want to let their children believe this man is safe. I will continue posting, because every parent or guardian or concerned adult I have reached, may have meant one less potential victim made available to this predator.  I thank each of the concerned adults who has read my words, and taken steps to protect a child they know.  It makes a real difference.  It matters.

Relentless

A few days ago, I was asked if I had finally given up on pointing out the predatory behavior displayed by Marc Maron these past three and a half decades.  I have not.  

People who get away with predatory behavior, will continue to do whatever they can get away with doing.  Mr. Maron is going to continue grooming and re-exploitating young survivors of CSA.  He is going to continue finding ways to expose his genitalia.  He is going to draw more children into his fanbase, as he continues to be marketed directly to them.  His book reading for children will be shown in a lot of schools in the next couple of weeks.  He is going to continue leaving mentally compromised young females in worse condition, when he is through using them.  

I will continue to point out Mr. Maron's behavior.  There are children suffering sexual abuses this moment, who this 61 yr-old man is going to groom and re-exploit.   No one spoke up for me, when this re-exploitation cycle dug its claws into me at the age of thirteen.  I will never stop speaking out.  

Life is full of discouraging times.  The only way to change anything, is to relentlessly keep being the person who will never give up.  

I will never give up.

Maron's current choices

Mr. Maron has not acknowledged the damage he has done to girls with serious mental health issues over the past 35 years.  He does not care about his past victims, victims who have been left in much worse condition when he is done with them.  There are many such victims, some who leave comments on his social media posts to this day.  These victims are suffering.  They are suffering from serious mental health diagnoses, serious addiction issues, serious issues with self-harming, and they often speak of ending their own lives.  Maron ignores their pain.  Yet he continues to groom more young damaged sexualized girls, who he will leave in that same condition later on.  He has never apologized for his oft admitted, and bragged about, obsession with fucking teen girls, and recently said he is compelled to have sex with them, even if he doesn't want to.  (His own words:  https://youtu.be/N57epLtJTm4?feature=shared ) After all of this predatory behavior, Maron is now starting to be an invited speaker in classrooms, and showing interest in the creation of books for children.  He is using his profession and celebrity status to place himself in positions where he can groom more young girls, where he can be held up as a safe person to bring into classrooms, where he can entice more correspondence with these girls and trauma-bond with more of them, and nobody is protecting these young people.

My old adventist principal, and a host of other sexual predators, are placed in positions of power over young people every day.  Society pays lip service to wanting to stop the atrocities these sexual predators commit, after the fact, but Maron is an example of what society actually allows, and even encourages, in real time. 

Marc Maron's reaction to my 8 months of reaching out to him, and my following 17 months of speaking out publicly about his predatory behavior, is to increase his public predatory behavior.  He does not believe it is wrong for old men to sexually exploit young, sexualized, mentally compromised girls.  He knows what he is doing, and he knows nobody will stop him.  He does not care about the pain and exploitation I, and others like me, experience. He does not care about the victims he has damaged, and left even more suicidal.  He is actively ignoring suicidal victims he has harmed, while actively placing himself into situations where he can continue to groom and exploit more of them.  Sexualized girls are seen as legitimate targets for old male predators, by Maron and by society.  Sexualized female young people are a group that can be exploited by a 61 yr-old men like Maron, and it is allowed and even encouraged. 

I will continue to speak out about Marc Maron's predatory behavior.  I do this, in spite of the egregious odds against society ever doing anything to protect damaged girls from this predator.  I do it for his past victims, and for his current victims, some of whom show up in Maron's social media posts, victims who are suffering even as Maron, purposely and with forethought, moves on to more victims.  

My life was stolen and destroyed by predators like Marc Maron.  No one cared.  My life didn't matter. My history, and the pain I wrote of, to try and explain to Mr. Maron how badly he is harming those like me, only made Maron want to double down on his predatory behavior. That is how little my words mattered to him.  He does not care about female victims of trafficking and sexual exploitation, unless he can groom and re-exploit such a victim.  Maron's victims deserve to be protected from this predator, a man who has exposed his genitalia on set, 13-stepped young addicts, and ignored a young suicidal victim in possession of a gun.  These victims matter.  They deserve to be protected.  

I hope someday, somewhere, sometime, society will finally listen, and stop sexual predators like Marc Maron.  He is actively using his job and status to groom more victims.  I will continue to actively speak out.

Prescient Hindsight

Sexualized children are not being helped in our society.  My life was directly affected by this failure, and sadly, this continues to be the truth for children currently being sexually exploited and trafficked.  This is why I decided to speak out publicly in this blog about a specific predator, starting on April 26, 2023.  Until people start to name and call out, in real time, the predators who target and re-exploit sexualized children, such children will continue to experience lives subject to continuing re-exploitation. That hindsight everyone suddenly says they have after viewing programs like "Quiet on Set," will never be transposed into timely protection and prevention, unless people finally decide to call out predatory behavior, as it is occurring. 

This is a summation of a few of Marc Maron's current words and behaviors that are red flags.  Paying attention in real time is the only way to protect current potential victims. 

Maron has recently spoken of his desire to attend high school plays, and has shown interest is children's books and growing his underage audience, and has just this month spoken of saying he thinks he would probably have been a teacher or a therapist, if he had not gone into comedy.  (This was on his recent "Ask Marc Anything" WTF+ episode, behind a paywall.)  A man who has spent 35 years purposely targeting mentally compromised teens who suffer from SI, SH, and substance abuse issues, in order to sexually exploit them, is not a person who has any business being around any youth, especially those in need of professional help.  A 60 yr-old man who has, on countless occasions for over 3 decades, publicly spoken of his desire to fuck teen girls, has no business being marketed to children.  A man who grooms underage girls, then claims they are "lunatics" who are "enamored" with him, and he is unable to say "no" to them, is displaying red flags.

Sadly, therapists/teachers/ministers/helpers who target sexualized teens are able to steal the lives of CSA/trafficking survivors like me, and get away with this regularly.  My life is an example of how those in the "helper" professions so often get away with re-exploiting people who need to be protected from such exploitation, not subjected to more of it.  Those in "helper" professions are often allowed to get away with sexually exploiting damaged young people.  Marc Maron has no compunction about saying he would want to be a therapist or teacher or social worker.  No wonder I was re-exploited over and over, and was then blamed for how I was harmed by the very people our society pays to help people with histories like mine.  Predators like Maron often choose those very professions where they will have access to such vulnerable youth.  Maron can spend 30 plus years obsessed with teen girls, and still feel comfortable saying he would have made a good teacher or therapist.  

Maron has made a substantial part of his living exploiting and blaming young victims, getting access to groom and blame such victims in his work, garnering laughs at the expense of these mentally compromised girls, joking about them and berating them from the stage, and this predatory behavior has been accepted.  He is marketed to children, and this is not viewed as problematic. Vulnerable youth are actively being groomed and exploited by this predator.  Once he is done with them, and his victims are left suicidal, he shows no remorse or concern.  He has not once shown any compassion for those like myself, who are damaged by predators like him.  His reaction the past 2 years to my words shows exactly how he regards sexualized and traumatized teen girls.  When/if any of his victims finally speak up, people will claim ignorance, or blame the victims, but there has been ample evidence for the last three and a half decades, and nothing is being done to protect young people from this predator.  Every new generation of youth Maron targets could be protected, but no one one is doing that for any of them.  

Maron is free to speak about his dick in front of kids. He can brag that he has enough "game" to have convinced a number of much younger girls to get abortions, yet also brag about never using condoms.  He will not get a vasectomy, yet he does not want children.  He has bragged about giving herpes to one of his exes.  This 60 yr-old man is targeting mentally compromised teens, and this is what he exposes them to.  This is all out there, in his IG Lives, his specials, his IFC TV show, his Intros and podcasts, his interviews and late night appearances.  

Maron wrote and will be directing and starring in an independent movie this fall. There is no requirement for Intimacy Coordinators in the US, and Maron has already shown his ability to get around the safety such Coordinators are supposed to bring to sets, when he exposed his genitalia on the set of Delores Roach in Canada. Whatever "dark subject matter" Maron's script is about, the darkness of what he is capable of getting away with on set is as destructive as anything done by every other known predator in the entertainment industry. Maron's victims are not being protected, and it isn't because his predatory behavior is hidden. It's just been blatantly ignored for 35 years.  

No one is protecting sexualized children from this known predator.  But I'm damn well gonna keep doing my best to speak out.

This old sexual predator is worming his way into more interaction with/around/regarding children, and no one is protecting any children from him.  A man who has spent 35+ years publicly saying he wants to fuck teen girls, a man who exposed his genitals on the Delores Roach set, is focusing more on children. He is doing it because he can.  Because, just like my pedo adventist school principal, he knows nobody cares about sexualized children, and society will keep handing him the bodies of female children, and blame those children, while he keeps grooming more.

Society never spoke up for me.  My church, my family, no one ever spoke out for me.  Fuck that.  I will never be silent.  

Generational Trauma

 In Maron's podcast intro and dispatch today, he once again stated that part of why he has never wanted children, is because he did not want to continue the generational trauma and pain that did so much damage to him.

Maron's victims now include girls young enough to be his grandchildren.   Some of his victims have children.   Maron's exploitation of their mother's have most definitely not made those kid's lives better.  Maron may not have passed his generational trauma on to any known blood offspring, but his exploitation of those from younger generations has most definitely carried his pain into the future.   The latest children on deck to be harmed by this man are now from the generation young enough to be his great-grandchildren.  For each victim Maron exploits, and labels "enamored" "lunatics" when he is done with them, the outer world continues confirming Maron as a person to be looked up to, a celebrity who is safe enough to be marketed to children.  His victims have no choice but to blame themselves for Maron's predatory behavior. 

Maron's chosen behavior toward much younger damaged humans has been deleterious for each of them, and will continue doing damage for generations to come.
